Parent Support Group

Thursdays 6:30pm – 8:00pm

Each Thursday night parents come together in this peer facilitated support group which serves as a lifeline to many during the darkest hours and days of the most tragic loss of a child.

(We are closed on major holidays)

Children & Teens Support Group – “Expression Sessions”

Thursdays 6:30pm – 8:00pm (each 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month)

Children 17 and under who have experienced the loss of a loved one are invited to join our art therapy based Support group facilitated in partnership with the art program “ARTS – A Reason to Survive” Pre-registration required.

Grief Education Workshops

3rd Thursday of each month 6:30pm-8:00pm

We will host this series of guest speakers during our support group. Each workshop includes guest experts who work with bereavement, grief, trauma and loss. These sessions are open to all who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Topics to be announced.

New: Violent Loss Support Group

4th Tuesday of each month 6:30pm-8:00pm

Families Helping Families is proud to announce the revival of the Violent Loss Support Group. This support group will address the special needs of those who have children were lost in violently. Dr. Ken Druck will facilitate this monthly session along with guest speakers who are experts in this area.

Mom’s Support Group

1st Saturday of each month 10:00am-11:30am

The FHF Mom’s program has been highly acclaimed in the community and cherished by those mom’s that together create a special community that truly understand each other’s pain and loss. Facilitator – Denise Hankins.

New: Family Support Day

This morning session will include 3 support group sessions – Mom’s, Dad’s and Children. Details to be announced.

New: Retreat: Healing Your Life After the Loss of a Loved One

A special intensive designed to offer a focused period of time for processing, learning and sharing the experience of grief and loss in a safe community setting. This event will feature experts in bereavement and the healing process.

Mom’s Night Out Potluck Dinner

November 2009 – date to be announced

FHF Bereavement Facilitator annually hosts this very special evening dedicating the time to creating a safe and supportive space to be together as mothers who have experience the tragic loss of a child. Bring you son’s or daughter’s favorite food, your own beverage of choice, and a flower to share. RSVP to save your space and to receive directions.

Dad’s Support Group

Often there is a very unique experience for the father who has lost a child as they are often seen as the strong one who holds everything together for the family, many times without intention Dad’s are not given the opportunity to express and process their grief.

Bereavement Specialist Dr. Ken Druck facilitates this important group.
